visarjan place

The Ganpati visarjan place of Alorna village is very beautiful surrounded by greenery all around.on the fifth day of Ganesh chaturthi people take their Ganesh idols to a river.All people gather together at this place.At afternoon time the flowing river has been looking very beautiful during the time of sunset.The river is chapora river originate from Ramgad hill. They place there Ganesh idols one by one and than village people,children,age old people singing aaarti together to say goodbye to lord Ganesh and everyone are enjoying during Ganesh visarjan time.childrens use to burn firecrackers and lastly when Ganesh visarjan has done each member from every family distribute Panchakhadya.and during holidays many people came here to visit these place.This is a religious place and mind refreshing place.so everyone enjoy when they ca at this mindblowing place .This is a very beautiful place to visit.Any other days animals came here to drink water of this river.

Vetal temple

Vetal temple is located in Alorna village.In vetal temple in the month of November or December during fair( divjotsav) have been celebrated and this is also known as 'divjanchi jatra.'Many people came here to worship  God and in every Monday or Thursday different rituals have been practiced in this temple.Many peoples from different parts of Goa visit this temple during holidays and in every Monday there was one Pooja have been held and mostly peoples with surname Tari have been participated in different rituals. Bhumika temple

Bhumika temple is one of the old temple of Alorna village.There are three idols of devi's inside the temple Bhumika, Sateri, and Kelbai.A big fair is celebrated in Sateri temple in the month of November or December every year. This fair is also called as 'Divjanchi Jatra'. The ladies especially surnames of taris take five rounds around the temple.During Holi festival 'Ghodemodni'and many other festivals like 'saptak' ,'Navratri' are celebrated in this temple.Near Bhumika temple there are two ponds which has religious importance.one pond is big and other one is small.During Ganesh chaturthi on the fifth or sixth day village womens practiced the ritual of Devi(Gauri poojan) on the small pond.The Bhumika temple was looking so beautiful. Farming

Alorna village is situated on the bank of chapora river in pernem taluka having good land for cultivation.Many people from this village have source of income from local farming.ln farming area the village peolpe have growing different crops.Pulses like kulit.chili plantation,banana plantation.During rainy season they  do Paddy cultivation. The climate of this region for growing crop is good.They are taking profit from chili cultivation as chillies are grown in large number,they use to sell in the market.Bananas  like mandalchi Keli,they had grown in large number and People use to sell this bananas in market to earn their livelihood.Many peoples of this village are engaged in farming and in farming area there is canals constructed who supply water for fields mainly during summer season.The farm area is surrounded by greenery and looks very beautiful in rainy season.

Mahadev Temple

The village of Alorna is also known for the Mahadev temple that is located here.This temple is known to be around 1000 years old and the Linga and ideal of Nandi are known to be natural in origin.In nearby temple there is one spring the water of this spring had came from mountain, which has religious importance.The water of this spring is very cold and every year during the festival of 'Mahashivratri' the newly wedded couple take bath in this spring.In Mahadev temple every year celebrating the festival of 'Mahashivratri'.During this festival the village people performing dramas for two days.Many people had came during Mahashivratri to visit the temple of lord Mahadev and to worship this god.

Alorna fort

Alorna is a village situated in the pernem taluka in North Goa.It is well known for the alorna fort.The fort of alorna is on the banks of chapora river.The fort was built by Bhonsales of Sawantwadi in the 17th century to defend against the Maratha attacks from the north.It was captured by the Portuguese in1746 and later invaded in 1781.It is on the banks of chapora river the surrounding area is very beautiful.Many tourist came in the month of may to visit alorna fort.
